Minnesota's Newest Fractional Resort

Brainerd, MN, November 19, 2008 – Clamshell Beach – The Cottages on Whitefish - has been approved by the Minnesota Department of Commerce to offer resort cottages for sale on a Fractional basis. They are one of a few select resorts in the state that has made the transition to this new business model which helps sustain the resort industry while also offering a common sense approach to anyone who has dreamed of owning a lake cottage.

According to the Explore Minnesota Tourism, the number of resorts has gone from over 3000 in the 1970’s to only 890 today. During this time, the state population has grown from 3.8 million to 5.1 million and lakeshore prices have increased exponentially. All of these factors have combined to make it more difficult for people to find an affordable way to enjoy time at the lake.
